Hindumitra Women's Meet - StreeShakti

**Namaste šŸ™**

Our *Mahila Sadassu* yesterday was a deeply meaningful gathering, bringing together women from **urban, rural, and tribal regions**—a beautiful coming together of diverse geographies and lived traditions.

The theme of the session was **ā€œGrāma Devatāā€** — celebrating our intimate connection with the **divine presence that permeates nature**, protects us, nurtures us, and sustains our lives.

As taught in the Bhagavad Gita, human beings and Devatās are meant to exist in a **mutually sustaining relationship**. When we live with gratitude and reverence, this harmony supports the well-being of all creation. However, when we consume the resources of nature without acknowledging or respecting these forces, the Gita reminds us that such a life is akin to that of a *thief*—one who takes without giving back.

Across time and cultures, our ancestors have lived with this awareness. They cultivated deep bonds with the seen and unseen forces of existence, ensuring that life was lived in a spirit of responsibility and gratitude.

This understanding is beautifully expressed through the concept of **į¹šį¹‡a (sacred responsibilities)**:

* **Pitį¹› į¹šį¹‡am** — honoring our ancestors

* **Deva į¹šį¹‡am** — reverence towards the Devatās and cosmic forces

* **Ṛṣi į¹šį¹‡am** — gratitude to the sages and knowledge traditions

* **Grāma Devatā į¹šį¹‡am** — nurturing our connection with the presiding energies of our land and culture

* **BhÅ«ta į¹šį¹‡am** — responsibility towards all living beings and nature

The Sadassu reaffirmed that these are not merely ideas, but **living principles** that guide how we relate to the world around us.
