What are the roles and responsibilities of a Hindumitra?

Updated: Jul 26, 2022

Hindumitra would need to choose one among the following 4 roles:

1. Dharma Vidyarthi – You may already be learning something related to Dharma such as Bhagavadgita, Samskritam, Bhagavatham etc.

You will need to spare 3 hours a week for this work and you need to maintain a record of this activity for self- reflection and to inspire other Hindumitras and general public about the progress you make. Remember we are all nitya vidyarthis – perpetual learners. Learning never stops.

2. Dharma Sevaka - If you choose service to society as top most priority and way to serve Paramatma, then choose this role.

You need to spare 3 hours a week for this work and maintain record of your activity to inform other Hindumitras and general public about your contributions.

3. Dharma Pracharaka – Choose this role if you are good at communication and have sufficient knowledge of Sanatana Dharma and are not shy of reaching out to your neighbours, family, friends and general public in spreading the divine knowledge of Sanatana Dharma.

It would be beneficial if you are also good with debating abilities , singing bhajans. These will be taught as part of Hindumitra training.

Again, need to maintain record of all the people you have reached out to and impact it has had. Also any reflections of the work you have done.

4. Dharma Bodhaka – Choose this role if you have knowledge of Sanatana Dharma and have the skills to be an instructor, motivator and teacher.

You will be expected to prepare teaching material and have the patience and time to teach all types of learners.

Your classes could be formal or informal. Could be in temples, slums, function halls, education centres or online. You will need to maintain log of all the classes you have conducted.

*Common to all of them:

1. Undergo mandatory Hindumitra training

2. Allocate at least 3 hours each week (vidyarthi, sevaka, pracharaka, and bodhaka)

3. Must maintain a log of their progress and details of upcoming work.

4. Attend Hindumitra Satsanghas.*
